OUR TEAM
Joshua Davis
Managing Partner
Joshua Davis founded DG Family Law in 2021 to provide clear, strategic family law advice to clients navigating complex and often high-conflict situations. As Managing Partner, he leads a growing suburban practice focused on disciplined preparation, measured judgment, and consistent outcomes. His approach prioritises early containment of conflict and practical guidance, ensuring clients can make sound decisions in challenging circumstances. Joshua’s perspective is shaped by both his legal experience and his upbringing in a single-parent family. His Christian faith underpins a practice grounded in integrity, accountability, and principled advocacy.
Joshua grew up in the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne and attended school in Rowville before completing his legal studies at Monash University (Clayton). He practised across the Melbourne CBD, Ringwood, and Dandenong before establishing DG Family Law in Narre Warren, later expanding to Scoresby in 2024. Joshua is committed to developing people as well as outcomes — mentoring solicitors and fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and care. He married his wife in 2019 and is a father of three young children. Family life is central to his perspective and informs his work and service to the community.
Since commencing practice in 2016, Joshua has developed strong experience in family law and is known for bringing clarity, structure, and measured judgment to complex matters. His experience includes:
- Complex parenting disputes, particularly high-conflict matters involving allegations of family violence and parental alienation
- Property settlements, consent orders, and financial agreements (including sole traders, small businesses, and family trusts)
- Mediations, negotiations, and protracted litigation requiring disciplined evidence and strategic control
- Child-focused matters, balancing safety, psychological considerations, and meaningful parent–child relationships
- Leadership of a growing family law practice, including mentoring solicitors and maintaining consistent client standards

Frequently asked questions
Do you do wills and POA?
We recommend that everyone obtains advice and seeks to update their will in the wake of a separation.
As we have focus specifically on family law, we do not do wills or POA’s. Instead, we can connect you to trusted referral partners who can assist you in this sector.
How long is a family law matter?
This really does depend on the person and the client situation. If you are seeking a review of a financial agreement, you may only engage with our office for a week or two, where protracted disagreements about a property or a parenting matter could result in litigation for 2 years!
We recommend that you engage with an initial consultation to get a more specific indication of what you could expect based on your interests, your ex-partner and the particular factors present in your situation.
What geographical areas do you serve?
Typically, in-person meetings are held at our offices in Narre Warren (Fountain Gate) or Scoresby (Caribbean Gardens).
Most of our clients come from the broader locality, with many residents from the Rowville and Lysterfield areas for the Scoresby office and from Endeavour Hills up to Clyde and Narre Warren North for our Narre Warren office.
With virtual consultations, we can make an appointment during your lunch break, while working from home or even while you sit in your car! We focus less on where you come from, and instead upon how to help you move forward.
How long does it take to get an appointment?
It is important to our office that we provide quick service outcomes when you most need them without compromising quality.
We will typically be able to accommodate your first appointment within 72 hours. You can otherwise expect to make an initial appointment within 3 to 5 days of your first phone call, depending on the urgency.
As we choose to prioritise existing clients, we cannot always guarantee a quick initial appointment, especially when we are receiving a high volume of enquiries.
Who will I meet with and who will work on my file?
When you make an initial consultation with our office, you will be meeting with a senior associate or a partner who is experienced in family law and who can provide grounded advice to you. We do not believe in cutting costs at the expense of quality advice from experienced professionals.
You may be provided with the option of meeting with a more junior solicitor depending on the complexity of your matter, your capacity to pay, and the staff available to assist in our team. We will also utilise administrative staff to assist on your matter where appropriate and available.
