Being raised in a single-parent family, Joshua has firsthand understanding of the effects of family breakdown. While life is about more than family law, Joshua understands that family law (& its application) can have significant effects on your life & the life of your family.
Experience
Joshua graduated from Monash University in early 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts & a Bachelor of Laws. Before being admitted to legal practice as a Barrister & Solicitor in late 2016, Joshua volunteered for pro bono legal services, including the family law assistance program at the Family Court of Australia (Dandenong).
In late 2016, Joshua was employed as a family lawyer at an inner-city private practice with Lewis Holdway Lawyers for almost 2 years. In late 2018, Joshua moved to Hutchinson Legal, a growing suburban law firm located in Ringwood. In mid-2020, he was appointed as a Senior Associate in recognition of his hard work for the firm, his supervision of the family law team & his dedication to his clients.
In early 2021, Joshua moved to Wheeler Family Law in the heart of Dandenong, a boutique firm practising exclusively in family law. In 2021, DG Family Law was established to provide you with family law advocacy directly from a family lawyer when you need it most. The firm has quickly matured and now offers services at several office locations.
Memberships
Joshua is admitted as a legal practitioner in the High Court of Australia & in the Supreme Court of Victoria. He is also a member of the Family Law Section of the Law Institute of Victoria (LIV), previously serving with the LIV Family Law Working Group with a focus on policy development and outcome management in the Family Law system.
Extra-curricular
Joshua resides in Dandenong North with his wife Anna. He claims to speak Indonesian, aspires to be a commercial beekeeper and is trying to learn Brazillian Jiu Jitsu at a local gym. As a younger man, he was raised in Rowville, where he seeks to understand and apply the teachings of Jesus in his everyday life.
